It is easy to go using public transport in Jakarta, as long as you comutter card in hand with enough balance.
Trains? KRL or commuter line jabodetabek is only Rp 3000 or 3500 for one trip.
Bus? Busway or Transjakarta is same Rp 3000 or Rp 3500, it depend on tariff hour.
And sometime there is only Rp 1 on special occasion or even free at all like free for women, yesterday at 21 April. Yes, kartini day.
So, what card can use as payment method?
Flazz bca, emoney mandiri and multi trip card from KAI itself, just to name a few.
Do not forget some phone app that support for payment!
This become handly when you forgot to brought your card.
KAI Access and Transjakarta app available at playstore or appstore. Sure there are some limitation like you can not use them for non-BRT or non-regular busway which only support cards.
Anyway, they may become life saver when card is not available with you.
